A fishy tale!

“It’s perfect,” says Shan of the mermaid design we produced for her cute thatched cottage in an idyllic Dorset village. And only a month or so later, Disney released a new live action film based on the sign – gosh they work fast! 

We tried out several images for Shan’s sign, and she chose the one featuring a little mermaid feeding a fish – a red gurnard, we believe. We carefully coloured it in, making sure there was some pink to match Shan’s front door. Thank goodness for the strategic positioning of the paper bag containing fish food, avoiding banning by social media giants for displaying – shock horror – a naked mermaid chest. We remain impressed that the paper bag retains its integrity despite submarine immersion, but the picture may not be drawn from life of course.

It wouldn’t be right to keep the attractive design between ourselves and Shan, so we’ve adapted it for three rectangular sizes as well as the 20 cm diameter round version. Head to our website page for further details.
