Seasons' Greetings for Santa!

Soooo … can I complain about the big stores’ Christmas ads appearing and it’s only the start of November? And here we are at Selene, launching a new sign for the holiday season, but I guess we do have an excuse. Which is: lead times, and how you need to think about ordering within the next few weeks if you’d like to remind ‘Santa – Please Stop Here!’ in good time.

I wanted to launch a new design to add to our retro Father Christmas introduced last year. How about some rosy cheeked Victorian children reproduced from ye olde artwork of yore? After much scrolling, we threw out that idea and plumped for some delightful modern winter woodland animals designed by Deniz of DreamFlare Studios.

Here we have a seasonal red squirrel – in honour of the protected critters that dig holes in my lawn on the Isle of Wight; a fox, also a visitor; and a deer, chosen for its looks ‘cos there aren’t any wild ones on the island unless they’re very good swimmers.

But I was also tempted by a charming bunny, woodpecker and rather grumpy looking owl. And if you’re in the USA, there’s a choice of raccoon, bear, wolf and, er, skunk. I can substitute these and more if you think they’d capture your Merry Christmas welcome at the front door.

Selene’s signs are a premium product when compared to many of the alternatives available right now, but one will last for years. Made of weatherproof aluminium with the image absorbed into its surface, it won’t flake or peel and can withstand the worst of winter weathers. Easy to put up and take down, it will be a family favourite marking the advent of the winter solstice over and over again. I can’t guarantee that Santa will visit as a result of your signage, but maybe it’s not worth the risk to go without!
